What we want
The Program Coordinator for Student Engagement and Multiversity Programming in Student Affairs at Texas A&M University at Qatar is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the planning, development and implementation of student experience opportunities. The role specifically focuses on student organizations, multiversity programming, and health/wellness initiatives for Aggies and other Education City students.

Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Required Education
Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of administrative, program coordination, or student affairs experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to identify and meet the varied needs of a diverse student population.
Requires ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others in a diverse population.
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Previous work/experience in a higher education setting
Responsibilities:
Student Engagement and Organization Support
Assist in the development and implementation of student organization officer training programs.
Assist and guide student organization leaders and advisors to complete their established goals.
Review student organization event submissions while working with appropriate TAMUQ departments for larger student organization programming.
Assist in reviewing student organization budget requests, via event submissions and open fund applications, to make appropriate recommendation to the assistant director.
Manage and oversee the Leadership and Innovation Lab (054) to meet the needs of student organizations.
Manages the waiver submission process for associated activities sponsored by the Department.
Respond to inquiries related to student organizations and/or student engagement.
Advise student organizations on appropriate programming.
Leadership Development and Multiversity Programming
Lead or assist in Departmental student events founded on the Aggie Core Values as a means to enhance the student culture of Respect, Excellence, Leadership, Loyalty, Integrity, and Selfless Service.
Work with partner university campuses to develop multi-campus programming for the Education City student body.
Develop student organization and/or leadership workshops for the Education City student community.
Help Identify, recruit, and train orientation leaders who will help welcome new Aggies each year.
Develop ways to increase and promote the Aggie spirit amongst new and current students.
Mentor and support students through one-on-one educational interactions.
Represent the Department on various University and/or Education City wide committees.
Health and Wellness Initiatives for Students
Develop and implement student programming focused on the wellbeing of students at TAMUQ and Qatar Foundation.
Work with other Education City Partners to continually evaluate student needs.
Assess and evaluate programs to make necessary changes and improvements.
Explore growing trends in health/wellness programming to ensure student needs are being met.
Assist students in need while helping to coordinate and/or manage applications for the 12th Man Student Emergency Fund.
Student Programs to College Station
Assist in the implementation and/or development of programs available to TAMUQ students to visit our main campus.
Assist in or lead the Conway-Fitzhugh International Honors Leadership Seminar.
Assist in or lead the Student Leadership Exchange Program consisting of cross campus exchange of students between the main and Qatar campuses.
Assist in or lead the training and development of selected orientation leaders, including the annual visit to main campus.
Work with main campus stakeholders to ensure a well-rounded student experience that enhances and promotes the Aggie spirit.
Support Student Affairs Goals
Work with Department staff to continually improve programs for students.
Assist students, faculty, staff, parents or guests by responding to inquiries.
Use emerging technologies to promote programs and services.
Recommend and implement programs to promote student engagement through cultural awareness, school pride, and knowledge acquisition.
Create or assist in the creation of reports on student engagement and/or student life.
Other Requirements or Other Factors:
Ability to work outdoors exposed to various weather conditions, potential allergens, elevated noise levels, and heat.
Ability to move (light, moderate, or heavy) objects. Some lifting, carrying, and/or moving of classroom/presentation materials.
Ability to support training delivery for up to 8-10 hours/day (standing).
Physical conditioning consistent with setting up classrooms, movement of training equipment.
Ability to travel independently to other and/or remote locations by driving and/or flying on commercial airlines.
This position may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
This position is security sensitive. This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU regulations and procedures.
This position may direct and/or evaluate the work of others.
Works to cover shifts, or take emergency call, on evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
